Hello all! I am having an issue with my Dell Latitude E6420.

What happens is that after a while of the laptop being on, the hard drive makes a clicking noise, and then it beeps.

This happens when I am browsing, or playing games, or downloading things.

I was wondering if it was time to buy a new hard drive, or if it can be fixed. I have no idea what hard drive this laptop uses, nor how to check.

Here is a video:

I can't tell much from the video (I have eyesight problems).

If it's the hard drive that's clicking, that's a BIG problem!

Backup your data IMMEDIATELY!!!

If the hard drive should fail it'll be expensive to recover it.

Start by running these free hard drive diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html

If it passes, then try the rest of these free diagnostics:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

I ended up running a dell diagnostic test, in fact it is failing and I need to buy a new hard drive. I am ordering one today, and backing up everything.
