Hi

I'm having really hard time removing this dawn Glass Bottle thing from Chrome on my PC (Windows 7), this turns quickly any Chrome surf session into a nightmare...

Maybe someone here can help.

I have already done the following :

- check and uninstall all suspects software

- remove glass bottle extension in Chrome and reset Chrome settings

- run adwcleaner : it has cleaned quite a lot of stuff, nevertheless there is always 2 or 3 items detected when I run a new scan....

- run Malewarebytes : it has cleaned quite a lot of stuff (like 80 items), but like with adwcleaner now the scan is still detecting 2-3 items each time, even after cleaning everything.

Chrome has improved a bit - I means the frequency of unwanted popups have decreased, but it's still there ....

I still have the left part of the screen used to show adds in under the title "Released search by Glass Bottle" in some pages. Sometimes a click on a link in a normal page is opening a stupid web site proposing games sites or browser (Mustang..), sometimes the popups are covering the bottom of the page, sometimes it is impossible to simply read the page as some of it is covered by adds and unaccessible any longer.

Firefox and IE are still clean.

I have downlodaed FRST64 and have the txt log files attached to this post, as well as txt output file of the last adwcleaner run.

Can someone help me ?

Thanks !

Didier

Hi,

Thanks for the help. I've done all the actions listed in you post, but I still got the "related search by glass bottle" banner on the left of some pages in Chrome....

attached the fixlog.txt.

Let see what the registry will report.

Please run the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool. Enter bottle in the Search Box.
Click the Search Registry button, post the content of the Search.txt file in your next reply.

Copy the text IN THE QUOTE BOX below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop.
Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved Right click the .reg file and allow it to merge with the registry.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\{78253ab6-7a0a-477b-a598-2b9e32e7e37b}]
"LocalService"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\AppID\{ffe2109f-6431-4fc6-9a8e-67548d633415}]
"LocalService"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\AppID\{78253ab6-7a0a-477b-a598-2b9e32e7e37b}]
"LocalService"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\AppID\{ffe2109f-6431-4fc6-9a8e-67548d633415}]
"LocalService"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\AppID\{78253ab6-7a0a-477b-a598-2b9e32e7e37b}]
"LocalService"=-
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\AppID\{ffe2109f-6431-4fc6-9a8e-67548d633415}]
"LocalService"=-

Restart the when completed.

You can delete the fixme.reg file when done.

How is it now?

first trial : sounds all good and 100% ok now in Chrome. There's no more any "glass bottle" thing or pop-ups. I will make further trials in next couple of days but it seems you've got it !

Thanks very much and I'll keep you posted shortly.

Didier
