Can anyone explain why:

If you send me an email to my Gmail account I get it within seconds, but if you send me an email to my Yahoo account, it usually takes no less than a half hour to arrive, and it's not at all uncommon for it to take several hours to arrive?

Sounds like a problem with the default mail routing of either the person who is sending the email to your Yahoo account, or with Yahoo itself.

Because Yahoo is a web-based email service and you don't have access to their mail servers or DNS zone files, there isn't much you can do to troubleshoot it.
