Alright im making this post for a friend because I tried helping him but im not entirely sure what the problem is, he says hes been having internet problems so they reset his router, everyone can connect to the Wi-Fi in his house with their tablets and phones (even his) but his Laptop and Computer cannot even see the Wi-Fi connection at all. He can see Wi-Fi connections just not his, he isn't out of range or nothing either so its not a adapter problem. He is connected through Ethernet right now but is used to being connected with Wi-Fi and not having a long cable running through his house.

Download xirrus wifi inspector and post a screen shot of what it sees for local wifi networks.

Does xirrus see this local wifi network?
