Hi,

I'm getting the same error code.

I'm trying to a factory restore on my laptop using genuine O/S CDs.

It almost finished restoring to factory default when I get the following error msg:

** Restore failed - Error code=0x45d (WIMApplyImage cannot apply image : The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.) **

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Nino.

Worth a look, http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2631 .

Error may indicate a hard drive problem...I would run the following hard drive diagnostic.

GSmart Hard Drive Test, Alexstrasza - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/565216/laptop-running-slow-tried-many-things-and-unreadable-files/?p=3613590
