Hello,

My computer (notebook) with Windows XP SP2 will reboot automatically (crash) after I try to run certain apps. For example when I run Tweaking.com's 'Windows Repair', the program will run through the initial stage but after that the OS will auto reboot every single time. One other app I can't even start before Windows crashes.

Also, I've ran ESET online scanner, Malwarebytes anti-malware and TDSSKiller and they've all found some serious infections (like trojans and rootkits) which were automatically deleted/quarantined, but the problem still persists.

Thank you.

If you're planning to use XP,make sure that's upgraded to SP3+ all updates.

Update: It seems that one of the two apps which were crashing the system, doesn't support SP2 anymore.

I ended up formatting the system partition and installing a fresh OS. I will most likely upgrade to SP3. Mods may close this thread as I will not be needing further help for now. Thank you very much.
