I am 14 years old and had given my old computer to my Grandpa about a year ago and I ended up wiping the computer and reinstaling Windows Vista on it the computer has been operating fine until recently. I have it set to automatically update Windows when needed now for a while for some unknown reason it will not update windows service pack 2 after many attempts. The computer is a Dell Insiron 1521 with a ADM turion 1.79 GHz processer with 4 GB of ram and has a 32 bit operating system. The start up system repair is not an option because I put the CD in and there was no repair option, and I have tried the check system readiness tool from the microsoft website but it was unsuccessful. It keeps giving me the error code ERROR_SXS_COMPONENT_STORE_CORRUPT(0x800737112).

Greetings, Grace5206 and welcome :-)

Ok. Was that update an important update or an optional update?

Ok. Try to go to this link below:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/971058

Search for the section entitled ''Windows Vista and Windows XP''. That is an online tool from Microsoft and it fixes some issues with updates.

Please let me know if it works. Should it not work, please do not hesitate in coming back.

:)
