Hi everyone.

I would just like to introduce myself; I am Dan and I am a system administrator for a local IT company in my area. I have over 12 years of experience as an CompTIA A+ Desktop Technician, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician, and Network Engineer. I am currently in the process of acquiring both Microsoft Desktop and Server certifications as a requirement for my newly acquired position.

I stumbled across this webpage many years ago when searching for Malware/Virus removal and it has become one of the biggest tools in my arsenal. I finally decided it was time to join the ranks and try to help out where I can. I am looking forward to working side by side with some of you guys and can't wait to get my hands dirty.

Until I started at my current position a month ago I was primarily handling only Apple support so it's been a rough month re-familiarizing myself with all the latest threats out there. These ransom-ware ones in particular really piss me off. I have always had a problem with being to empathetic with my customers but these things are just unreal, how can you not feel a little bad for those unlucky enough to get infected?

TLDR: Name's Dan, I fix computers.

Welcome to the forums!

I agree, this is a great website for IT people.

Welcome to the forums!

Thanks!

I noticed you have a Subaru logo as your avatar. I am about to go sign the papers in an hour on my first Subaru. It's a 2012 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Premium.

How do you like them?

Maybe we could discuss that via PM. ;) I'll start a new conversation with you.
