I'm not sure what your setup is, but this site might be helpful, it is an hp site, but shows how to set up different video cards and may help you out.

If you are setting up a dual monitor on one video card. Under the display properties you will need to select monitor number two then check extend my display.

If you are using two different video cards, In the display properties you will need to designate monitor 1 and 2 with there own video card.

I'm thinking of adding a second monitor...... is there any advantage to installing a second video card?

If you are setting up a dual monitor on one video card. Under the display properties you will need to select monitor number two then check extend my display.

Does this mean that you will have the same on both monitors?
Is it possible to have 2 different web pages up.... one on each monitor (i take it you would have to have 2 browsers running)
I'm being bogged down with multiple tabs and think that a 2nd monitor would help me.

If you are going to use to different video cards then you want to make sure that you select the second monitor on the display properties and then select extend my desktop. At that time you can use two different web pages up.

AS far as the video cards you might need one that is either onboard or AGP and the other PCI
