I have a card reader hook it up and trying to get pictures from my camera into the computer  When I look at the directories the card (32 gig sandisk card) doesn't show up...I clicked on show hidden files, then the G drive showed as G, but it said  insert a card.  I cannot figure out why the card reader isn't reading the card.

Have you tried leaving the Card in the Camera and connect it to the computer via USB Cable.

Then just explore through windows and open the Dcim Folder and get your photos or data that way.

If you can see the photos on the camera this should work.

What is the make and model of this card reader?

How is it connected to your computer?
