Is it recommended to use Tor (the downloadable browser on the Tor website) - https://tor.eff.org - to "anonymously" be on the Internet? Or are there better programs / websites?

Is the Tor browser, obviously a modified Firefox, portable?

How anonymous is anonymous? I could imagine all of your "personnel" data can be found the same like being not anonymously on the Internet, but it would be more complicated, last longer.

CyberGhost is more trusted at VPN programs. You also have FreedomeVPN,Avast VPN etc. but CyberGhost is most reliable and most used.

Yes, that is good, and there also is a costing version.

Thank you for the link, softeyes. Yes, indeed, very interesting (and complicated).
