Dear Experts,

I'm struggling with the following issues with my laptop.

1. Laptop gets rebooted automatically at times (not always), thus, loosing all my work intermittenly

2. Laptop never gets hibernated and I'm not able to resume my work. It always gets restarted and Windows Login screen appears when I hibernate.

3. Few Windows Updates are not getting applied at all for many days now (please refer below for the list of Windows Updates not getting applied). All the updates are getting downloaded and seems like installted. During installation, laptop gets rebooted automatically and it shows like "Windows Configuring.... Do not poweroff your system...". But when we login and check for Windows Updates, it still shows the "Windows Updates Failed". Try again!

Office 2013

b. Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2937610)

c. Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3035583)

Kindly help me fixing this issue as soon as possible as it's really killing my time and work.

Thanks a lot!

Welcome to WhoCrashed (HOME EDITION) v 5.03

This program checks for drivers which have been crashing your computer. If your computer has displayed a blue screen of death, suddenly rebooted or shut down then this program will help you find the root cause and possibly a solution.

Whenever a computer suddenly reboots without displaying any notice or blue screen of death, the first thing that is often thought about is a hardware failure. In reality, on Windows most crashes are caused by malfunctioning device drivers and kernel modules. In case of a kernel error, many computers do not show a blue screen unless they are configured for this. Instead these systems suddenly reboot without any notice.

This program will analyze your crash dumps with the single click of a button. It will tell you what drivers are likely to be responsible for crashing your computer. It will report a conclusion which offers suggestions on how to proceed in any situation while the analysis report will display internet links which will help you further troubleshoot any detected problems.

Conclusion

9 crash dumps have been found and analyzed. A third party driver has been identified to be causing system crashes on your computer. It is strongly suggested that you check for updates for these drivers on their company websites. Click on the links below to search with Google for updates for these drivers:

rtstor64.sys (Realtek USB Mass Storage Driver for Vista x64, Realtek Semiconductor Corp.)

If no updates for these drivers are available, try searching with Google on the names of these drivers in combination the errors that have been reported for these drivers and include the brand and model name of your computer as well in the query. This often yields interesting results from discussions from users who have been experiencing similar problems.

Read the topic general suggestions for troubleshooting system crashes for more information.

Note that it's not always possible to state with certainty whether a reported driver is responsible for crashing your system or that the root cause is in another module. Nonetheless it's suggested you look for updates for the products that these drivers belong to and regularly visit Windows update or enable automatic updates for Windows. In case a piece of malfunctioning hardware is causing trouble, a search with Google on the bug check errors together with the model name and brand of your computer may help you investigate this further.

Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

rKill.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/10/
iExplore.exe (renamed rKill.exe): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/dl/11/

§  Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.

§  If using Windows Vista, 7 or 8 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.

§  black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.

§  If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.

§  Do not reboot until instructed.

§  If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.

When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.
Post it in your next reply.

NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

------

Please download Farbar Service Scanner (FSS) and run it on the computer with the issue.

§  Make sure the following options are checked:

o    Internet Services

o    Windows Firewall

o    System Restore

o    Security Center/Action Center

o    Windows Update

o    Windows Defender

o    Other Services

§  Press "Scan".

§  It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.

§  Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

Let's do some checking for malware and to remove junk:

Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool

Please download Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool from here.

§  Right click on KVRT.exe and select Run as Administrator.

§  Read the EULA, then select Accept.

§  Wait for Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool to initialize.

§  In the main screen, select Change parameters, place a checkmark in System drive, then click OK.

§  Click Start scan.

§  Wait for Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool to complete scanning.

§  When the scan is finished, select Neutralize all for all detected objects.

§  Close Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool when done.

Informe me if something is detected.

-----

Run MBAM:

§  On the Dashboard, click the 'Update Now >>' link.

§  After the update completes, on Settings tab, set under Detection and Protection next options:

1. 'Scan for rootkits'

2. Non-Malware Protection, for 'PUP detections', check, 'Threat detections as malware' option.

§  Return to Dashboard, click the Scan Now >> button.

§  A Threat Scan will begin.

§  When the scan is complete, if there have been detections, click Apply Actions to allow MBAM to clean what was detected.

§  In most cases, a restart will be required.

§  Wait for the prompt to restart the computer to appear, than click on Yes.

§  After the restart once you are back at your desktop, open MBAM once more.

§  Click on the History tab > Application Logs.

§  Double click on the Scan Log which shows the Date and time of the scan just performed.

§  Click 'Export'.

§  Click 'Copy to Clipboard'

§  Paste the contents of the clipboard into your reply.

------------

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.

§  Close all open programs and internet browsers.

§  Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.

§  Click on Scan button.

§  When the scan has finished click on Clean button.

§  Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.

§  Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.

§  You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S0].txt as well.

----------------

Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

§  Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.

§  Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".

§  The tool will open and start scanning your system.

§  Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.

§  On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.

§  Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.

Thanks for your guidance. During this scanning, my computer went down many times. I couldn't complete the scanning at all. Somehow, I took time and completed all the scans (with multiple tries). Even during JRT run, my system got rebooted by itself. Kindly help me in fixing this issue ASAP. Thanks much...!

I don't think anything was detected post Kaspersky Virus Removal Scanning.

Logs from MBAM Run:

By mistake, I ran this twice (first at 06:05 and next at 06:50). I'm posting both the logs for your review.

Hello,

it seems that you have serious problems here, that are not malware related. Lets try this. This steps will check for problems with Windows.

Empty your temp folders using TFC (Temporary File Cleaner)

  • Please download TFC by Old Timer and save it to your desktop.
    alternate download link
  • Save any unsaved work. (TFC will close ALL open programs including your browser!)
  • Double-click on TFC.exe to run it. (If you are using Vista or above, right-click on the file and choose "Run As Administrator".)
  • Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process and let it run uninterrupted to completion.
  • Important! If TFC prompts you to reboot, please do so immediately. If not prompted, manually reboot the machine anyway allowing Windows to load normally (not into Safe Mode) to ensure a complete clean.

Tweaking.com - Windows Repair All-In-One (Portable)

- Extract tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip to your Desktop.

Disable all your antivirus and antimalware software - see how to do that here.
- Right click on QfBzvq1.png and select Run as Administrator (XP users just double click) to start Windows Repair All-In-One.
(Windows Vista/7/8 users: Accept UAC warning if it is enabled.)

- Go to Step 3, then click Check in the See If Check Disk Is Needed.

- If Windows Repair stated that errors are found, click Open Check Disk At Next Boot. Choose (/R) Fixes errors on the disk also locate bad sectors and recovers readable information, then click Add To Next BootReboot the computer to let Windows check the disk.

I would like to help you to remove malware. Let's look inside.   :busy:

I followed all the steps as mentioned in the above post. However, I'm not able find the log file anywhere (including Desktop). Could you please help me locate this log file?

PS: My system got rebooted many times during these processes too.. I struggled so much to complete this scan. Even after all these steps, my system went down by itself.
