The cursor freezes every day. I tried buying a new mouse. The problem remains. It seems to freeze at random times. I have to reboot the entire computer. This is very annoying if in the middle of a program. The cursor is the microsoft PS/2 mouse. Can't find anything on other reference to this problem.

This could be a whole bunch of different issues.

I think that "maybe" you are experiencing a system crash instead of a mouse error.

-Is the keyboard still functional when this happens?

When the cursor freezes, all existing programs continue but obviously nothing else can happen. So the answer is the keyboard does not function.

When the mouse and keyboard freeze, what happens when you press ctrl/alt/del?

Does it bring up the task manager or is that frozen too?

The task manager is frozen too. Nothing works except programs already running.
