Im planning on building my own gaming computer from scratch.
https://pcpartpicker.com/user/IdkWhat1mdoiNg/saved/#view=4czxFT
Right now this is the build I'm looking at. However, as I progress I realize that I still need all the software and maybe a back up drive and external storage. I'm still not close to the exact build as I'm switching stuff out here and there. Right now it's getting rarity pricy and I'm wondering if any of the hardware is unnecessary or can be down graded. Thank you a lot. I really don't want to pay way more then I have to.

Your motherboard can support up to 6 DRIVES, so you can add up to 5 drives and 1 DVD/blueray drive. You can have much hard drives as much as possible until you fill up the last 6, yes SSD for your OS can make your system boot up faster compare to 3.5 mechanical hard drive, and applications load up much faster as well. You will tell different if you load Battlefield 4 onto SSD and HDD.

What software do you need? If you just want record your gameplay, use NVIDIA Shadowplay for free, and for video editing you have to purchase those software but you can find one free on the internet.
