So my computer has been crashing while playing games after updating a bunch of hardware. Screen freezes up with a weird pattern. Vertical running lines over some monocolored background with sound stuttering.

Here's what I've tried so far:

Complete dust cleaning (not dusty since many things are new)

Reseating just about everything

Logging temperature to make sure no overheat (65 C max on GPU, lower on CPU, no overheat)

Making sure my system drivers are updated (graphics, .net framework, directx, etc)

Here are my specs:

OS: Windows 7

GPU: AMD R9 290x

CPU: i5 4670k

MOBO: Gigabyte H8M1 -HD3

Hard drive: Samsung 250 GB SSD

PSU: Corsair 750

Here's what it looks like when it crashes: http://imgur.com/PaZASx5

What game does it crash? Does it give you any error message?

I'm a PC gamer as well, you can find me on Steam by typing Jerky McDilerino into the friend search box, and the first result should be me with a bleepingcomputer profile picture.

No error message, and on all the games I've tried (at least 5). Usually after 2 to 10 minutes, occasionally longer.

That indicate you have a hardware issue because any gaming PC like your for instance can runs this benchmark fine. If it crash then that indicate you have a hardware issue or maybe you uninstall graphics driver incorrectly. Just to be curious, do you have the latest bios for your motherboard?

Hi. . .

Doesn't sound like BSODs are involved, but please run through the BSOD Posting instructions anyway -

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/

After that, please run FurMark - http://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutorials/3907-furmark-display-card-stress-test.html

We need to know about the hardware that you replaced/updated and why, i.e., upgrading or hardware failure.  Please list new/upgraded hardware items.

Did you reinstall Windows?

Please check for firmware upgrades for your SSD - http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/support/downloads.html

Regards.  . . .

Alright, let's see

Hardware replaced due to spill damage (not a large spill, nor normal liquid, it was pretty limited): Graphics card, motherboard

Hardware replaced for update: Hard drive

I did reinstall windows
