I have had problems with Windows 7 always trying to update and not being able to update to Service Pack 1 and also updating every day two other updates which it doesn't say has failed but it tries every day to update it again so I assume it must be failing. I can't update Internet Explorer 9 now because it says I don't have Service Pack 1. Will I be able to update to Windows 10 or is it likely to tell me I can't because I haven't an up-to-date Windows 7.
These are the ones it tries to update each day, although I have turned it off to do it automatically and check now every so often for any new updates:
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2656351)
Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R2 for x64 (KB2600217)
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) (This one always fails)
I have tried forums and browsed the internet to try and sort the problem out but have never been
Any advice much appreciated.
I use an old 2000 Microsoft Word, Excel and Access programme which I am comfortable with and would like to carry on using. Am I likely to still be able to use this? How can I check if my other programmes as well would be compatible if I don't have the icon in my tray that has been mentioned?
