Dead pixels suddenly are no longer fully black...?

For a while I had a bunch of dead pixels spreading in a single area consisting of mostly lines. However, upon opening my laptop the other day, the lines have become slightly transparent and a massive opaque black blob has appeared in the center. 


Any idea what is going on here? It's even worse than before.

It looks like the failure rate of your screen is increasing. Hope you've been saving up for a new one. I expect that you will be needing it soon.
