Went to play a podcast from an RSS feed (from a BBC radio subscription) but seems to be no MP3 player anymore. Played several of these files no problem on Tuesday. Laptop crashed (overheated) a couple of days ago - might that have knocked it out? How can I get it back?

I'm using Windows 8, Firefox 38.0.5 on an HP Envy m6.

When I look at Firefox/Tools/Options/Applications there is no MP3 content type listed; Podcast content type says "preview on firefox".

I'm accessing the mp3 file from Outlook 2007's RSS Feeds folder, as I did when listened previously.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Further to the above, I find I can open this file (which I had previously listened to):

But when I try (exactly the same way) this one (or all the others):

I get a window "You have chosen to open (..names the file)

which is: MP3 file (12.8MB)

from: http://aod-pod-ww-live.edgesuite.net.

What should Firefox do with this file?

Open with (Pick an app)

Save File

Do this automatically for files like this from now on.

If I go to the website ('http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b019dl1b/episodes/player") I can access  all the programs on BBC iPlayer. But that doesn't answer the question of how I play MP3s, or why the function has (partially) disappeared.
