The GPT (GUID partition table) is part of the UEFI firmware.  This is slowly going to replace the MBR.

A HDD/SSD must be partitioned before you can install Windows.  The GPT and MBR are the two current options for creating the partition.

When Windows is installed on a computer which has the UEFI BIOS you have the choice of using the MBR (Master Boot Record) or the GPT.  In your case the GPT option was used.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
