Hi All,

I haven't been on BleepingComputer in years but I have a problem so here I am again.

The issues are on my personal work computer and it's getting to the point where I need to do something about it.

If the problem can be fixed quickly, I'd greatly appreciate it.

This is typical system load when I'm working and it's gotten higher in the 3-4 months I've been using this computer.

It will go higher when just viewing a YouTube or Vimeo video and sometimes it will lock up until once it's out of memory.

Frankly, I don't remember what the optimum setting for the cache is so it might need tweaking.

What you're seeing is the normal release of Chrome launching which is a memory hog to begin with.

I get anywhere between 60-120 memory faults when launching applications or when task scheduler is running.

It could be that I'm launching too many processes at once but I experience sluggish performance even if I only have a few applications open.

I know this is going to involve some troubleshooting but I need to get this working better so if you're up for it, I am!

Here are my specs:

Thanks in advance for your help!

svchost.exe      process ID: 168      User: SYSTEM      Domain: NT AUTHORITY       Path: C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe
Memory Usage: 26 MB       Peak Memory Usage: 1.66 GB

Honestly speaking...I don't see a problem.  Your system usage of resources seems quite in line with other users, with the exception of the item above.  You can investigate that via How to determine what services are running under a SVCHOST.EXE process - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial129.html .

Any browser is going to use somewhere up to 300MB or so of RAM when each window/tab is opened...to expect otherwise is unrealistic, IMO.

Your situation with Malwarebytes having an issue with restart...may indicate malware or the effects of malware removed from the system.  I found another instance of that particular situation and malware was involved...so I'm going to move your topic to the Am I Infected forum for a look by those with greater knowledge/experience with malware situations..

InadequateInfirmity,

Very funny but I'm smarter than that and plus, you're not a mod.

Move along now...

These instructions are bogus and you know it.

Why do you think that moderators knows better? I am removing malware since 2007. and I am not moderator here. Maybe it is the case with

InadequateInfirmity. Maybe he knows more that some moderator. And in AII, everybody can help.

I would like to help you to remove malware. Let's look inside.   :busy:

But I don't know to solve all PC problems.  :smash:

I wouldn't normally ask but look very closely at the context of his post and see why I'm asking.

Though he may mean well, following his advice would erase my OS as it painfully obvious by the screenshots.

Thanks

Hi,

InadequateInfirmity,

Very funny but I'm smarter than that and plus, you're not a mod.

Move along now...

These instructions are bogus and you know it.

What are the problems you have with the above instructions?

Please note that members are allow to help in this section of the forum, and that moderators are not the only ones who can reply.

Though he may mean well, following his advice would erase my OS as it painfully obvious by the screenshots.

The instructions above are only removing temporary junk files and adware. They do not affect anything that the OS requires to work.

All of the tools recommended by InadequateInfirmity have been used numerous times here at Bleeping Computer.

So far, NO ONE has ever posted that they erased the OS.

The screenshots clearly show what is removed, which are files that are safe to remove without affecting the OS.

And now that all of this has been covered, let's get this topic back on track if you still want help.

It is YOUR decision whether or not to run the tools suggested.
