I cannot instal the Epson XP-625 drivers on to a

windows 8.1, 64bit PC.

The computer is searching for the printer via

the printer ports, but it is plugged in via USB,

I have tried all sorts of things to get it done,

but I am now stuck.

The "Print CD" will not work with out the Epson

software.

The printer and scanner work fine with the

windows drivers.

Any help please?

Mike.

Thank you for your reply.

I think I did, I went there and got the latest versio for CD printing, but I will

try again, when I clicked your link, I see there is a choice via a drop down

window.

I will report back.

Mike.

When I was there before, the page showed that I had 8.1-64bit on my

machine, but another go wont harm.

I followed your link and downloaded the software bundle

for windows 8.1 32/64 bit computers.

Unfortunately when I installed the bundle, it all went into

the 32 bit program file!

I removed all Epson software, re-booted the machine and

tried again, all into the 32 bit area, I removed all again and

had another go as Admin, I explored the files, there is no

indication about 32 or 64 bit, so I tried different files, still

no joy.

I then went to Serif UK and had a look there, they don't have

my model listed in the windows 8 software.

There is a software disc with the machine which has 64 bit

software on it, I just don't understand why it keeps going into

the 32 bit area.

I am stuck now till I can contact Epson.

Thanks for your help, I will leave it tonight, I have been too

long trying to fix this toda.

Mike.

Thank you for your replies.

I managed to fix it.

Windows 8.1 was the problem, I deleted all the Epson software

via the Control Panel, Add/Remove programmes area, but it

didn't remove any of the software at all, although the Control Panel

indicated that it had and removed the title from the list. I had to go to

"All Programmes" via Explorer and delete each one from there, then

empty the recycle bin.

I also had to go in to the Registry and delete all Epson software

from each location and then re-boot the machine.

The faulty driver was a later version than the ones that I was

trying to install, so they wouldn't overwrite it, that is why I think

that my troubles lasted longer than they should have.

Hi Lishedlum, I don't understand it either, the disc that

came with the printer has both 32bit & 64bit software

on it.

The printer is running fine now and all the Epson software

is still in the 32bit, (x86) area, but it does print from a 64bit

programme, so I think that some things are the same whether

in 32bit or 64bit, like text maybe.

Thanks again for replying.

Mike.
