My hp laptop's screen has gone fully white, and is unresponsive to any commands. I tried F8, F11, Ctrl+alt+delete, and holding the power button down. I don't know whether to remove the battery, check the software (don't know if I can) or just buy another. (It's a blue HP Stream with windows 8)

The solution may be to replace the screen.  And I hope you mean 8.1

Cheers,
