I want to troubleshoot my bsod but there are no minidumb folders. I am guessing the computer was never set to save minidumps. is there a way i can change it to make minidump files without actually booting windows? Like is there a way to do it with command prompt? Thanks

Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file):  http://www.carrona.org/setmini.html
More info on dump file options here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/254649

But, it's better to let us have a look at your reports after you get the next BSOD (as we have more experience at this).

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum):  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/

Here's a link to an older page where I discuss how to analyze BSOD's:  http://www.carrona.org/howidoit.html
