Hello,

I am trying to access my broadband modem to amend some ports, or more accurately my son is, and cannot gain access via the browser on 192.168.1.1.

It says "server error: 403 forbidden"

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Constantine

Well you can't actually get into a modem... Well I don't think you can... This 192.168.1.1 is for getting into a router...

What exactely are you trying to do?

Try 192.168.100.1 to see the modem's spec page.

to find out the router's address, click on start>run type in "cmd" hit enter. when the "dos" screen opens up, type in "ipsonfig" and hit enter.this will give you ip info for your nics. the one that says "gateway", is your router's ip address. if you dont have a router/modem, you may have to open up the ports on a firewall that is on your machine. either windows firewall<in control panel> or a third party firewall, ex:zone alarm. you will know if you have a router or not from your machine's ip address, is it a private (192.168.x.x or 10.10.x.x) ip, or a public ip. let us know how you made out
