What is the make and model of this computer?

What operating system are you using?

If this laptop is running Windows 7 or an earlier version try booting into Safe Mode.  Safe Mode uses a limited number of drivers and applications.  The graphics driver used in Safe Mode is Windows driver, it does not use the driver provided by the manufacturer of the laptop.  If you boot into Safe Mode and the problem doesn't persist I would suggest reinstalling the driver.  If the problem persists the problem could be either with the display or the integrated graphics on the motherboard.

If or when this occurs again, please do what I suggested.  This is the first step in troubleshooting this problem.
