Frequent pop-ups to advise us that Windows had to shut down due to a critical error, with the following details:

Problem signature:

Problem Event Name: BlueScreen

OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3

Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:

BCCode: 7a

BCP1: FFFFF6FC80600F30

BCP2: FFFFFFFFC0000185

BCP3: 000000000D4FB880

BCP4: FFFFF900C01E6AD4

OS Version: 6_1_7601

Service Pack: 1_0

Product: 768_1

Over time, the performance continued to decline.  I ran various Malware programs and nothing would indicate a virus. So, on Saturday, I reinstalled Windows 7.  Everything seemed to go well.  Performance was much better.  On Sunday morning, however, I noticed that the pop-up window to advise that windows had to be shut down due to a critical had returned.  The same info as above appeared.

From this information, are you able to provide any insight as to why this is happening?

Thank you,

Let's try this.

a.  Run the chkdsk /r command

Chkdsk From Command Prompt, Win 7 - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/496613/contextmenu-is-causing-explorerexe-to-crash/?p=3067880

b.  Then run the sfc /scannow command.

SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot - Windows 7 Forums - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/139810-sfc-scannow-run-command-prompt-boot.html

Do NOT post any logs, just run the commands and allow them to execute to completion.

Then...give the system a day and post a new MiniToolBox  log.

Thanks :).

Louis

followed your instructions above.  SCANNOW didn't find any issues.   This morning, after AVG ran the update, the computer shut down with the same details as I mentioned in my first post.  I will run the Mini Tool Box again tonight and see what happens.

thanks for all your assistance.

Content Index Catalog Errors

I have no clue as to the significance of the WinMgmt errors in Event Viewer.  Some believe that such indicate malware possibility, but I see nothing conclusive as to why such errors are manifested.

Click on the Start orb rsz_1rsz_1rsz_start_orb_zpshjewtibd.png, then type services in the Search programs and files box.

Services will appear above the search box, right click on it and select Run as administrator.

When Services opens scroll down to System Event Notification Service and right click on it, then select Properties.

By default the General tab opens when this service opens.

Under Startup type, make sure the startup type is set to Manual.

Under Service status click on Start.

Scroll up to COM+ Event System, right click on it and select Properties.

Make sure the Startup type is set to manual, and the Service status is set to Start.

Reboot the computer and let us know if this resolves the issue.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

This usually indicates disk, cable, or controller issues.

I'm thinking that it may be the disk:

C5
Attribute name: Current Pending Sector Count
Real value: 1,463
Current: 186
Worst: 186
Threshold: 0
Raw Value: 00000005B7
Status: Good
C6
Attribute name: Uncorrectable Sector Count
Real value: 1,463
Current: 186
Worst: 186
Threshold: 0
Raw Value: 00000005B7
Status: Good
C7

I'm not sure about WD drives, but on Seagate drives a non-zero value for either of these means the drive has sectors that cannot be written or read reliably.
Try downloading and running WD's Diagnostic here: WD DLG for Windows

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
