Hello everyone. I am in need of some help concerning something that my computer has been experiencing.

Everytime when I try to open my antivirus (I have webroot secure anywhere antivirus) I double click it but it doesnt open, the same thing happens when I try to open Malwarebytes, I double click it but nothing happens.

I tried opening webroot secure anywhere on safe mode and it did open and when I scanned my computer, it removed like 5 threats, however now that I am running my computer normally I still cant open any of my security programs. (malwarebytes, webroot, etc..)

My computer is running normally, It hasn't slowed down or anything but I'm feeling alright in knowing that my antivirus isn't opening and I cant even use it.

When I tried to download a new antivirus or security program, it never loads or anything.

Help!!

I have Windows 7.

Hello , try running RKill first and then the tools.

Please download Rkill by Grinler and save it to your desktop.
  • Link 1
  • Link 2
    • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
    • If using Vista/Windows7, right-click on it and Run As Administrator.
    • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
    • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
    • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
    • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
  • Do not reboot the computer, you will need to run the application again.

Hi boopme. Thanks for responding. I downloaded Rkill and saved it on my desktop and double clicked it from there but when the program was running, my computer restarted abruptly and then it got the Blue Screen of death.

I am pretty sure that Rkill did not finish scanning but from what It did finish it said:

Checking for Windows services to stop:

*No malware services found to stop.

Checking for processes to terminate:

And that was the last thing that Rkill had written before my computer just restarted and got the Blue screen of death.

After my laptop restarted, I tried Rkill again but it was the same thing, my computer restarted before Rkill could finish as it restarted abruptly but this 2nd time that it restarted, I didn't get the Blue screen of death.

Ok, this is an unstable machine.. We should start a new topic so you can get one on one help and clean it safely..

Let's see if we can get an FRST log.

Please follow this Preparation Guide and post in a new topic.
Let me know if all went well.

Thanks again for your support, I posted on the virus removal log and attached all the results from the FRST.exe.

By the way, I posted the same thread like 3 times, it was an honest mistake. Please remove all of them and just keep one. Sorry.

Hello,

Now that you have posted a log here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/580673/cant-open-any-of-my-antivirus-or-antispyware-programs/ you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a MRT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer.

From this point on the MRT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the MRT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the MRT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Please be patient. It may take several days to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. Good luck with your log. I did delete the duplicates as requested.
