I have a new HP Presario and I'm having trouble reading/writing dvds. I can read and write CDs so I don't think it's a hardware problem. I've been on the phone with HP for HOURS. They can't figure out what's wrong and are sending me a new drive (even though I probably don't need it.) Do you have any suggestions???

Thanks

There's no harm in trying the replacement drive. Install it, and if you are still having problems, post again, and we can try to help you.

There's a very good chance that this will fix your problem, or they wouldn't have sent the replacement drive.

Good-luck.
