Ok this issue has been persistent for some time and I haven't made much headway.  Several months ago I decided to reinstall Star wars empires at way.  I had it saved on the computer as a image.  I downloaded Damon tools to mount it with.  After doing that when playing the game the computer would lockup, then I noticed that the computer would lockup when browsing the internet or even sitting idle.  I uninstalled both the game and damon tools, I did a quick restore which didn't help and then did a window repair which didn't help.  Now it hasn't locked up when idle for some time but locks up after 10-15 minutes of playing hero's of the storm.  I have updated all drivers and ruled out a overheating issue.  I ran stress tests on memory cpu and gpu and was not able to recreate the issue.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that you've done all these steps when uninstalling Daemon Tools.

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration):  New link (15 Aug 2012):  http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link:  http://www.disc-tools.com/download/sptd
Manual procedure here:  http://daemonpro-help.com/en/problems_and_solutions/registry_and_sptd_problems.html

If that doesn't help, then let the game lock up one more time.

Then please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

7Bytelo service is having problems - please uninstall it

Problems with a USB device - appears to be an external HDD with a Toshiba hard drive.  Please remove it from the system and see if the problems persist once it's been removed

You had a BSOD on 22 June 2015.

1)  Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum):  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/576314/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-windows-10-81-8-7-vista/

2)  Please run Driver Verifier using these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

I have no idea what 7Bytelo service is.  I do not see it listed in services or add remove programs.  I do not have a externall HDD.  I have a ipad that is some times connected other usb devices are, g19, razer mouse, usb headphones.  I have the bsod report but when trying to run the resource and performance report from the admin command prompt it tells me that A error occured when generating the report    The operator or administrator has refused the request.  I ran the bsod app.  Do you want me to post just that file?

Don't worry about the resource and performance (perfmon) portion right now - if we need it, we'll work on it later.

Please post the file from the BSOD app, it contains the files that I use most.

It appears that you have run a lot of diagnostics on this system.  Please let us know the tests that you have run since this problem started (it's looking like a hardware/low-level driver problem to me).  If you haven't run a hard drive diagnostic, I'd suggest that you run Seagate SeaTools for Windows (available free here:  http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/ )

BIOS/UEFI (version A11) dates from 2013 - please update the BIOS/UEFI to the latest version.

If it wants you to do this from bootable media, post back here before doing it (doing it from within Windows is OK)

This device is disabled.  Did you do this deliberately?  If so, why did you do it?

Microsoft Virtual Drive Enumerator    ROOT\VDRVROOT\0000    This device is disabled.

Uninstall Logitech GamePanel software - I'm starting to suspect these older drivers (LGPBTDD.sys and LGVirHid.sys) on 8.1 systems (just a hunch at this point).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

LGBusEnum.sys               Mon Nov 23 20:36:48 2009 (4B0B38B0)
Logitech Keyboard}http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support-downloads/downloads
http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=LGBusEnum.sys

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run these free hardware diagnostics:
Then, If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

I have tested all hardware including HDD.  I disabled the virtual drive emulator because i had a different problem with my computer concerning virtual drives, and disabling fixed that issue, so i though what the heck and tried it with this, since it started when installing damon tools.  I will try the steps you suggested but do want to add that when the computer locks up the vast majority of the time i do not get a BSOD.  The computer just freezes and you have to hold down the power button.

Does this mean that you've tested the RAM, Video, CPU, and have run the Prime95 Blend test?

Here's a link to the tests that I suggest - I'm looking to see if you've run tests similar to what I'm familiar with.

http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

The troubleshooting for the errors is basically the same - with or without a BSOD.
The only additional thing that we do is run the dump files if you have a BSOD.

The reason that I asked about disabling the device was to see if there might be another problem that could be related.
Could you describe the problem with the virtual drives please?

If the steps that I asked for with the BSOD analysis don't help, then I'll ask for some more info.

In particular, I'll ask for this report:

Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog)
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

FYI - If we're looking for Event ID 41 errors (unexplained shutdowns), there's more info on that here:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

While waiting for a reply, please monitor your temps with this free utility:  http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

I ran furmark, hot cpu tester, sea gate tools, and the windows memory checker.  The problem i had with virtual drives was with a different computers but involved dameon tools.  It was a different issue then this but i figured what the heck.

Please run MemTest86+ for at least 3 passes (I have seen problems with the Windows Memory Diagnostic).
Also, please run Prime95 with the Blend Test (as time allows, also run the Small FFT's and the Large FFT's tests)

Finally, please run the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool - it's designed by the people who made your CPU, so it's the most likely to find out if something is wrong.

All of these tests are free, and links to them are provided at this page:  http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

The errors in the Admin Event Viewer logs don't show a definite problem in a certain area.

There's some Office problems and some "metadata" problems

As such, it's most likely that we're looking at hardware - so finishing the tests that I suggested above is the next step in the diagnostic process.

As the latest memory dump was a STOP 0xD1 error, it's advisable to run Driver Verifier (just in case this is a low-level driver issues and not a hardware issue)

Please use these instructions to run it:  http://www.carrona.org/verifier.html

I was unable to run memtest, i dont have a jump drive to use for the boot.  I did prime 95 with no issues as well as intel processor diagnostic tool.  I havnt had time to run driver verifier hoping to do that this evening.  I tried using a different video card in the computer and had the same issue occur.  Something i have noticed is that is seems to be playing a game that cause the lockup.  The computer will not lock up if i boot and dont play a game.  If i play a game and it dosnt lockup during the game, it will lock up in the next few hours after closing the game.

In most cases Prime95 will catch memory errors.  IMO it's not as good as MemTest86+ for memory testing, but it does catch things that MemTest86+ doesn't catch.

In another topic that I saw recently, the poster found that Robocraft (a game from Steam) was causing the problem.

They stopped using that game and haven't had a problem since.

The Steam forums had multiple posts about the problems with Robocraft.

Let's see what Driver Verifier will tell us - and then we'll move on from there.
