l am running xp sp2 and a couple of days ago, I somehow download a packet of virus, trojan, malware .. my machine was acting weird, and all my surfing history got deleted and it seemed to do a system restore every time I booted the machine, as Firefox kept opening in the new user page and giving me the Tour.
I downloaded and ran MBAM.. it found 138 pups on the system.
After a reboot, the computer was still having a major problem in that the Winsock stopped working and I lost connection. Fortunately I have winsock repair and ran that which fixed the problem. I ran MBAM, JRT, ROGUE KILLER TDSSKILLER,RKILL,AND HIJACK FREE, quite a lot of stuff was found and deleted.

Sad to say, the winsock repair doesn't seem to cut it now, and I have lost connection more permanently.. Imam using my tablet to write this, so my WiFi router is still OK.
Can someone please assist.. I have some logs from those scans if that will help.

Hello and welcome..
For the connection try these...

Please click Start > Run, type inetcpl.cpl in the runbox and press enter.
Click the Connections tab and click the LAN settings option.
Verify if "Use a proxy..." is checked, if so, UNcheck it and click OK/OK to exit.
Now check if the internet is working again.

Go to Start ... Run and type in cmd
A dos Window will appear.
Type in the dos window: netsh winsock reset
Click on the enter key.

Reboot your system to complete the process.

If needed : type these one line at a time, press enter after each line. See if it works after each.

netsh interface ipv4 reset
netsh interface ipv6 reset
ipconfig /flushdns
