What are your performance and operational needs and expectations? Do you have a particular OS in mind? Lastly what kind of budget are you working with?

The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

We basically want to surf and send emails to lodging places as we go along. No games or heavy stuff. I have a cheap Aspire one with Windows 7 .  It seems very slow but does get the job done eventually. We do not need to spend a lot of money on a new one. We are older so we are not computer geeks by any stretch of imagination.

Thanks for any input/opinion you might offer.

Thanks

Cheap means android because Apple doesn't do cheap.  I don't know if you can pick up an Amazon Kindle Fire, but it is a good inexpensive tablet.

The one I have is cheap yet very powerful. Its Android based (Asus Memo Pad HD 7) Quad Core. Should be less than $100 if thats what you are looking for.

Thats what Apple does best. Sell mediocre products at a ridiculous price.

Jim,

I very much recommend these 2.  Should be able to get them for about $300 and less.  I would never hesitate to urge any of my clients to go w/ one of them.  Great bang for the buck.  I am always keen to sell ASUS machines.  Clients who have bought them from me love them & people I know who own these particular ones wouldn't give them up for any reason.

Cheers,
Drew
