Hi everyone,

Since june 1 I have serious problems with my Macbook retina yosemite after a black screen coming out of sleep. That day the macbook updated remote desktop client although I did not have it. Some of the problems are: I could only log in after I gave my iCloud password, the name of a spasebundle was renamed in Tr.sprarsebundle, in a webinar I was unable to mute the mics and attenders could hear me, disc utility signaled problems that persisted after cmd-R start. Clamxav was active on  the time it happened. Bitdefender, Eset, Avira did not find anything. Login screen (showing the golfball and the french keyboard) was changed to the new yosemite screen and the US keyboard (wich I have always had). After saving some documents to a USB stick the stick no longer worked in the Macbook, on a windows computer the files showed damaged.

After erasing and reinstalling Yosemite, each time I open system preferences I see a text flash, too quick to read. I now have mostly connection issues: Safari asks to install RAT, the connection stops regularly, an Apple support page tells me I have no access rights on this server, on the secure website of my provider its tells me I am logged in but have no rights, I can not attend the DCWG website etc.  After installing a second user with parental control, I can use it one day and then it no longer accepts the password, which was written down and used several times). Apple support Belgium says malware can not persist after erase and reinstall. But I am worried. Do you guys and girls have an explanation for this strange behavior? Yesterday I closed the retina down i reuse my old macbook. To learn I did a adware medic and Etrecheck scan. Can I post it here so that at least I know this one is safe (they have been connected via usb). Thanks

Hello,

After reinstalling did you use the migration assistant? If you do so you have reinstalled the configuration files too. If exists a problem with it you have it on new installation too.

Backup all your personally data and try a fresh install. For this way you need to install and configure all your apps manually.

Before you do it

  1. Disconnect from all your Icloud accounts (itunes, ibook and so on).  If you cannot do it in normal boot mode try from the Safe Mode (also check if the problem exists in this mode)
  2. Log  in to your Apple ID and change your password
  3. Reset your NVRAM and SMC - in this Order!
  4. Boot again into Safe Mode and check for updates. You can do it direct from the Terminal:
  5. Open Terminal with the following ways:
  6. Go to Finder Menu Go and Choose from there Utilities to open the folder. Start the Terminal and type or copy and paste the following command:
  7. softwareupdate --list
  8. If any updates shows there, enter the following command:
  9.
  10. softwareupdate --install --all
  11. or
  12.
  13. sudo softwareupdate --install --all
  14. If you get access denied you need the second command and type your password in the Terminal.
  15. Make a EtreCheck Log and Post it here.

Have a nice sunday

As I see you have ClamXAv and Eset installed. Uninstall both.

How do I uninstall ClamXav completely?

How to Uninstall Eset Cybersecurity

  1. Open your Applications - Folder in Finder and search for Eset Cybersecurity
  2. Right-Click or CTRL-Click on the Cyber Security Icon and choose Show Package Content
  3. In it there is an Uninstaller follow the step to uninstall the Software

Search with Find Any File

  1. Download Find Any File unpack and open it
  2. On the search pane type the keywords Eset and ClamxAV.
  3. Hold the Option key down and hit enter to search with root privileges.
  4. On the top bar of the results window select to not showing deleted items, to showing packages contents and invisible items.
  5. On the top left you can select how the app showing the results. You have two options between List- and hierarchical View.
  6. Move found items from this two products to the trash by Right-Click or CTRL-Click on the selected line and choose from context menu move to the trash.
  7. Some System Items will not moved to trash, if so open it in Finder and move from there. You need your password.

Any problems with deleted items or are you not sure, select the List-View in Find any File, click on the results window and copy the list here. Choose  CMD+A (select all), CMD-C (copy) and CMD+V (Paste) it here.

Thanks. All the files are removed. There is still one problem with this Mac. Network preferences opens slowly. Advanced settings are set to ask password to make  changes but that command is not followed.

Network preferences opens slowly. Advanced settings are set to ask password to make  changes but that command is not followed.

Do you mean the Preferences in your System Settings? And what do you mean with not followed? Does the System not accept your password?

Try this steps first and give me please an answer of the question above. Describe exactly the problem.

STEP 1

Remove ClamXAV

  • Open your System Settings (Preferences)
  • Open Users & Groups (or Accounts) and choose your Account name on the left side
  • On the right top click on Login Items
  • Select ClamXav Sentry and click on the minus (-) button below to remove it.

STEP 2

Reset NVRAM and SMC

Read the following articles to reset your NVRAM and SMC

STEP 3

Safe Mode & Repair Disc Permissions

  • Boot into Safe Mode, read this Article carefully. The Boot Time in Safe Mode is slower and possible that your Screen flashing is normal.
  • Log In and Open the Disc Utility. Go in the Finder to the menu bar and choose from the menu Go the submenu Utilities to open the Folder.
  • Start from there the Disc Utility
  • Choose on the left Side your System Drive and click on the bottom right Side in Order 1. Verify disc permissions, 2. Repair disc permissions.
  • Restart your mac

STEP 4

Open your Terminal

  • Press the keys CMD + SPACE to open Spotlight. Type Terminal. If Terminal found double-click to open it. If not found on this way open the utilities Folder as described above and start the Terminal from there.
  • Copy the Command Line below and paste it in your Terminal, Hit Enter to execute.
  • echo "Launch Items";echo;launchctl list | grep -v com.apple;echo;echo;echo "Drivers";echo;kextstat -l | grep -v com.apple

  • Copy the result from the Terminal and Insert it here.

Please can you put a screenshot here what do you mean with Wi-fi? - Thanks.

EDIT: Possible this may help you http://osxdaily.com/2012/02/22/mac-wont-remember-a-wireless-network-password-heres-how-to-fix-it/

On my last instructions I don't needed an EtreCheck Log please follow all the steps that I have given to you - Thanks.

If you have done all the steps you can make a new EtreCheck Log - Thanks.

How can I have 2 Flash players?

That's normal is the protected (sandboxed) mode from the Player next to the Browser Plugin: http://blogs.adobe.com/security/tag/mac

Update Flash Player

  1. Open your System Settings and click on the Flash Player
  2. Click above on the register Updates and the button check for updates.
  3. Confirm to update the Player. You will redirect to the Flash Players main Page.
  4. Make sure there are no other additional Software is checked on this site.
  5. Click on the download button and install the update.

I have got no response from you about the other STEPS. As I see you have remove ClamXAV - good. Have you doing the other steps. If not please do (especially the disc permissions repair - STEP 3).

And also the results from STEP 4.

Maybe your password for the network is stored in your keychain so don't need type in again.

  • To check if is stored open the Utilities Folder (/Applications/Utilities) and start the keychain.app.
  • On the left pane choose Login and All Items
  • Type in the search box on the top right something like WLAN, Wi-Fi, Airport or Network and search for your WI-FI device
  • If you found your Network double click on the line to open his window
  • Below you can choose Show Password (next to the key symbol). You need type your Login Password (if your set your settings to need Password to unlock the keychain),  and confirm in the next window with your username and Login Password again.
  • Check if the Password stored there that is the correct one.
  • To want type the password everytime you use your WI-Fi delete the entry in the keychain.

No other issues found on your system.
