Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me out with an issue I'm having with my computer. Over the last month or so, my Gateway running Windows 8.1 has seemingly frozen instead of going into hibernation. I close the lid of the laptop and the screen goes black, but it never goes off. I end up having to pull out the battery because no button I hit brings it back on or causes it to turn off. I also had a few BSOD a week ago when turning it back on that had a message of, "Bug check code: 0000009F, Probably caused by: nt!MmTrimAllSystemPagableMemory Driver. The DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE bug check has a value of 0x0000009F. This bug check indicates that the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state.". I installed all available Windows updates today but the problem persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated, the problem only seems to be getting worse. Thank you.

OS: Windows 8.1
CPU: Intel Core i5-3210M

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000

RAM: 4 GB DDR3 Memory

I ran the PERFMON report, but this is what came up -

Error:
An error occured while attempting to generate the report.
The operator or administrator has refused the request.

Your BIOS/UEFI dates from 2012 (you have version V2.02)  Please update your BIOS/UEFI from the Gateway website.

Only 104 Windows Updates installed.  Most systems have 130 to 150 or more.  Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available (and didn't experience any errors).

Lot's of Windows Updates failures in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report. If they continue, post back for further suggestions.

The memory dumps point to your wireless driver (athw8x.sys), so the first step would be to:

- download a fresh copy of the latest, Win8.1 compatible version of that driver

- uninstall the current version from your system

- install the freshly downloaded copy

- monitor for further BSOD's

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
