This is really frustrating. I have the game on disc and I want to install it rather than buy it again on Steam. But whenever i try and install it it crashes out at the point of trying to install DX (which I have version 11) with an Error 1935 message "an error occurred during the installation of assembly component". Does anyone know a solution to this, or is my disc just a coaster? Thanks

That's a pretty old game.  It may just not like windows 8.1.  You might try to install it with compatibility mode.

A possible fix would be to temporarily disable your anti virus/malware programs while you install the game and then of course re-enable them.
