HP color LaserJet 3500 won't print

I have two printers connected thru USB to a generic windows 8.1 computer.The two printers Epson XP-410 and HP Color Laser Jet 3500. I did get my browser hacked through MetroCast. I am now running Malwarebytes to protect myself from having that problem again.
Both were working fine. I started getting and print error popup on my desktop for the HP 3500. I have deleted and reinstall the driver from HP. Can't find what is causing the error. The Epson XP-410 is still printing without error.

It may help if you provide us the error your getting also you can try googling the error yourself to look up some solutions.

Please download MiniToolBox save it to your desktop and run it. Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  • Flush DNS
     
  • Report IE Proxy Settings
     
  • Reset IE Proxy Settings
     
  • Report FF Proxy Settings
     
  • Reset FF Proxy Settings
     
  • List content of Hosts
     
  • List IP configuration
     
  • List Winsock Entries
     
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
     
  • List Installed Programs
     
  • List Devices
     
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
     
  • List Minidump Files
     
  • List Restore Points
Click Go A copy of Result.txt will be saved on your desktop, it should automatically open on your screen. Copy and paste the entire contents of that text into your next reply.
Note: When using "Reset FF Proxy Settings" option Firefox should be closed.
 
Also please post a link in your post for the following:
  • Go to Piriform's website, and click the big download.png button.
  • Next, click Download from Piriform.com (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version.
  • You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.
  • After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.
  • Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):

  • Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot
  • You will see the following prompt:

  • Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

  • Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the p22004370.gif button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Add Reply below the Reply box.

Okay it appears your anti-virus is creating a false positive.

please disable Norton 360 long enough to get this minitoolbox downloaded to your desktop. Save it there for convenience.

It would not hurt to right click it and run it as an administrator.

Here is those instructions again.

Hello, if you have not already done so, please enable your anti-virus protection.

I'd like you to check device manager to see if you have any exclamation marks showing for any of your system devices, specially your Hewitt Packard LaserJet 3500 Printer.

I see you have Windows 8.1 32 bit for an operating system, I will check the availability of compatible drivers that work well with Windows 8.1 since this printer was originally sold when Windows XP was the latest Windows release.

Please let me know if there are any exclamation marks in your device manager.

Driver Management concluded the process to install driver hpc3500e.inf_x86_b41690ad674ca6e8\hpc3500e.inf for Device Instance ID DOT4PRT\VID_03F0&PID_1517&REV_0100\7&35FFF98D&0&1 with the following status: 0x0.

 

No exclamation marks in your device manager.

Everything is fine on the computer. Everything is fine at the printer.

 

Tried to printing this page. Popup on desktop " ERROR printing to hp color laserjet 3500" everything in device manager says its working properly.

Hang in there please, I am asking for some knowledgeable help from some fellow staff members, as it appears my experience with hijacked computers or routers is very limited. This could be related to why your printer is not receiving the print command.

AM I to understand, that this problem printer is hooked up via a USB cable to the laptop, is this correct?

You are experiencing issues with a print job that involves printing pages or items that are on line, such as coupons or other printable documents that are based on a website?

Did you try connecting the HP printer using the USB cable you have on the Epson printer and to the same USB port?

Hi

Are You installing the printer using the Proper procedure?

Step 1, Uninstall the HP driver(s)

Step 2 make sure the printer is disconnected

Step 3 Install the proper drive, IE Windows 8.1 32 bit or 64 bit windows version

Step 4 when Prompted plug the printer in or after the driver install is finished.

 

Quite often failure to install with the printer unhooked will cause issues.

This is a desktop computer. Printer(s) are connect USB port. The Epson USB_001 HP Dot4_001. I did try all your suggestions to no avail. Uninstalled all printers and software. Reboot and installed the driver from HP. The USB connection was still Dot4_001. Still get " HP COLOR LASER JET 3500 "Printer Error"." The error is in the "see what's printing" part of the function. Print queues is where the error is originating. I can not change the printer port without creating a new icon along with the old one ( 2 icons for the same printer,)
