i bought an inexpensive laser printer to save on ink costs but it doesnt scan

i cantfind an inexpensive (less than several hundred dollars)  doc scanner with auto feed tray unless it has a printer as well.

can anyone suggest such a thingif it exists and if not suggest the cheapest document scanner  / printer with auto page feed for multiple docs?

Your looking for a document scanner I like the portable versions as they are smaller.  I have used this one in the past and I like it because it can scan to a USB thumbdrive and take it to any computer.  This one has a 20 page document feeder ... you can get other versions that have more page feeding capability.

thanks. I read your response when you posted it and have been checking that one out and others, but before you posted me that link every time I searched for "portable scanners" I just came up with hand held barcode scanners.

I'm a genealogist and need to scan alot when I'm out researching so that portable does look lie a good one

I first thought I needed a flatbed too but other than copying pages from books I guess I wouldnt (and libraries have copy machines for that anyway)
