Sounds like the system is waiting for something to happen, and it finally gives up after some benchmark point is reached.
I'd update your BIOS/UEFI and see if that helps.
Another thing to try is to remove the battery and AC Adapter.
Then hold down the power button for 30 seconds
Then put the battery and power cord back in and see if that has helped clear things out.

Thanks. Just to confirm, all I need to do is run the .exe and not touch the computer until it's done. True?

I haven't tried it, but that's how it usually works.
Sometimes you have to reboot, and sometimes you have to restart the computer (it shuts down after flashing, but doesn't reboot).
