You know that drop down for forms that appears for email and home address

What Email, and how did you get there (Windows / Yahoo / Gmail /etc)? My Win8.1 is not allowing me to set accounts so this may help both of us ..

You get a form requesting your name and address etc.

So while you are putting in your name, you put in your first name and

soon it drops down 1 or 2 choices for  that maybe Joe or Joseph
you click one then it adds your last name etc.

you click tab and you go to next box and that may be, email address
so as you click on this appears to under write you em address some
close others exact I guess at one time if you in a hurry and me a mistake

reinterates  the mistake is carried forward, am I starting to sound familiar, ?

Well it does the same thing with phone numbers, so if you don't catch it

you will leave behind on that form a  bad number

Sorry mate -

Without any more specific details (? If you mean a forum, there may be logon problems) this question just seems to be random .......

Will need to throw it open, as I get no such item on my 8.1 .......

Anybody Else ? ?

I hope we re on same page, this pertains to forms used by company or persons you are communicating with.

they usually want your email, zip code, and other things, and somehow this information is available to you

so that you can click your way through, looking closely at one of these I found out that the phone in this sytem

is wrong, . .  how can I fix it ?

Hi Jove -

I was thinking about this earlier and I think that I may understand what you mean.

As an example : You visit here quite often, and I would almost bet that you have ticked "Remember Me" at your logon page / area, so you only need to click "Sign In" when you enter here, as your User Name and your Password are remembered all the time. Click the Sign In area, and I think you will see.

With the sites that concern you, untick "Remember Me" or Automatic login, and request a password change, or click "I have Forgotten my Password".

When you reset your password and any other details, you should be able to reset other information.

This should repair your problem, but write down your new passwords in a book, and do not tick "Remember Me" on your problem sites.

Usually works for me -

is programmed to know your name address and other info

Just for a reach, but might Jove be referring to autofill for forms in the browser?

Yes this is what I am talking about also.

Most Autofill forms are not in your browser, but they are Site or Forum specific, as I currently use at least 6 passwords.

Just for a reach, but might Jove be referring to autofill for forms in the browser?

If the "Autofill" forms are set to "Remember Me", then Reset your password and other details.

Everybody should do this at least once or twice every year as part of their normal protection routine ....

Look at where you sign in to this forum, and if you have "Remember Me" ticked, the computer will usually remember your user name (Jove) / password (xxxxxx) and you just click "Sign In".

This is an Autofill Form that B.C. uses to help the (mainly regular) members, like you, to sign in without needing to enter your name and password every time you visit.

I change (Reset) the password details on a  regular basis (twice a year) due to the amount of Spam Emails I receive.

You do not need to use it, just click No when your computer asks if you want it remembered, but when you joined or updated your password, your computer (or B.C. software) will ask "Do You Wish For Me To Remember Your Details" - You usually click on YES.

I joined the Acer forum last week, as my new computer is an Acer brand, to try and find a few details, and I was offered the same as I am talking about, I clicked Yes, but I also wrote down the user name / Email account / password / and any other details that I may need to re-visit. It did not "Remember Me" the first time I went back, so I simply entered the user name and password again, clicked their Orange "Remember Me" button and had no problems.

If I wished to change my details I was able to click "I Forgot My Password" then enter my email and a CAPTCHA item and I could change my password and other minor details.

This is why I write them in a small 50 cent notebook and keep them near the computer. By the end of the year, My book is full, and I start another one

You will find this is correct, but often you also set a question like, Mothers Name, or first pet, these were used prior to Captcha items, but still apply to many accounts .....

Regards - Typical Autofill form from B.C. This is where I change my Sign In details when required for This Forum. I can also show many others.

Hi Jove -

Has there been any progress, or are you still going back to Google for an answer ??

We are always interested if you solve the problem, or if you can give us other information (is anything working)

Thank You

I get this at work sometimes,

I just use the down arrow to highlight the entry, and then press the Delete key to remove it.

My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
