Seems i have a small problem trying to load some games up like Halo for instance! everything was fine a few days ago,but now every time I try to load it up it iether stops loading and comes up with an error saying it has failed to load or just shuts down.everything else seems fine.Have tried deleting and reinstalling with the same problems.
My appologies if ive put this question in the wrong forum...1st time and all that. :thumbsup:

A learned friend of mine says i more than likely have a virus!!!! :flowers:

Hi 007geezer,

* It's not recommend that you have more than one anti virus product installed and running on your computer at a time. The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, then those products which do not encrypt the virus strings within them can cause other anti virus products to cause "false alarms". It can also lead to a clash as both products fight for access to files which are opened again this is the resident/automatic protection. In general terms, the two programs may conflict and cause:
  • False Alarms: When the anti virus software tells you that your PC has a virus when it actually doesn't.
  • System Performance Problems: Your system may lock up due to both software products attempting to access the same file at the same time.
* Therefore please go to add/remove in the control panel and remove either Avast or AVG.

Reboot afterwards.

* Sometimes the real time protection used by programs like Windows Defender getting interfere with malware cleaning procedures. So if you have been sent to this link, follow the below steps to temporarily disable Windows Defender's Real Time Protection. Please leave it disabled during the cleaning process.

* Open Windows Defender
* Click Tools
* Click General Settings
* Scroll down to Real Time Protection Options
* Uncheck Turn on Real Time Protection (recommended)
* After you uncheck this, click on the Save button
* Close Windows Defender

Once your system has been deemed free from malware, you can re-enable Windows Defender's Real Time Protection.

* Please re-open Hijackthis and scan. Check the below entries:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {53707962-6F74-2D53-2644-206D7942484F} - (no file)

Close any open windows except for HijackThis then click on Fix checked. Exit the program.

* Restart your computer and post back a new hijackthis log for review, please.

Hi 007geezer,

* Your hijackthis log looks clean.

BitDefender is a good program but I have no feedback about this one: SPYWAREfighter. Please see here

Did your purchase for it or is it a free trial version for the while? There are others very good shareware tools such:

SpySweeper, its a two week trial version or ewido, a 30 days trial of the program.

* This process will clean out your Temp files and your Temporary Internet Files. Please do both steps:

Step 1:Delete Temp Files
To clean out your temp files, click on Start and then run, and type %temp% and press the ok button.

This should open up the temp directory that your machine uses. Please delete all files that are found there. If you get an error when deleting a file, skip that file and delete all the others. If you had trouble deleting a file, reboot into Safe Mode and follow this step again. You should now be able to delete all the files.

Step 2: Delete Temporary Internet Files
Now I want you to open up Internet Explorer, and click on the Tools menu and then Internet Options. At the General tab, which should be the first tab you are currently on, click on the Delete Files button and put a checkmark in Delete offline content. Then press the OK button. This may take quite a while, so do not be alarmed with how long it takes. When it is done, your Temporary Internet Files will now be deleted.

Finally, and definitely the MOST IMPORTANT step, click on the following tutorial and follow each step listed there:

Simple and easy ways to keep your computer safe and secure on the Internet
