I dont have Office on my laptop. I received an invoice via email that I need to download and print. It must have make using Office. Its asking for Office in order to download.

Is there a free alternative to Office that will allow me to download this invoice?

Hi soimcrazy :)

There's multiple alternatives to Microsoft Office: Apache OpenOffice, LibreOffice, Kingsoft Office, etc. all free alternatives. Simply associate that document with the matching Office program, then you'll be able to open and print it.

Libre Office or Open Offcie should do it. What format is that invoice? pdf? txt? doc? If pdf -- Adobe Reader, Foxit Reader, are just two of many [much smaller than Office suite programs] that can read and print. If doc -- your built-in Wordpad should be able to read and print.

Some links provided

Open Office

Libre Office

Kingsoft Office 2013  - the last good one

Softmaker Office

Edit: Microsoft Office Online Free  You need a Microsoft Live Account. I think you need to upload the file to OneDrive first and then open it but I am not sure.

For a .docx, you'll need OpenOffice or LibreOffice writer. Download either Office suite and open the file with Writer.

JohnC, Avira flagged as problematic the softmaker office suite web site. I can work around that, however, because the suite is a 30-day trial version, I'm only downloading Kingsoft Office Suite :)

Most likely a false positive.
