Hi Ben ^_^,

Unfortunately, that does not contain the dump files :( . Kindly go to the path below -

"C:\Windows\Minidump"

Copy the dump files to some other place and compress them up. You need to copy them someplace other than the default location else you would be presented with a nice Access Denied Error.

Once you have zipped them up, kindly upload them with your next post.

If you don't find any dump files, make sure that you are not using any cleaning tools like CCleaner since they delete the Dump files.

Have you actually seen a BSOD?  There are no memory dumps in the uploaded reports.

There is a memory dump on your system at C:\Windows\MEMORY.dmp.

Please do this (skip the struckout part):

Upload Dump Files:
NOTE:  If using a disk cleaning utility, please stop using it while we are troubleshooting your issues.
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder.  Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there.  If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP.  If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service.  Then post the link to it in your topic so that we can download it.

Also, search your entire hard drive for files ending in .dmp, .mdmp, and .hdmp.  Zip up any that you find and upload them with your next post.

Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file):  http://www.carrona.org/setmini.html
More info on dump file options here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/254649

Only 2 gB of RAM installed, and only 567 mB free:

Total Physical Memory:     1,888 MB
Available Physical Memory: 567 MB

Please upgrade the RAM on the system (if able).  Meanwhile, please only use one program at a time to help improve the performance of your system.

Only 229 Windows Updates installed.  Most systems have over 300.  Please visit Windows Updates and get ALL available updates.  It may take several trips there in order to get them all.

Please install the drivers for these devices.  They are available at the Acer support site for your system.  The Base System Device is most likely a card reader, the SM Bus Controller is most likely a part of the Intel chipset drivers:

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller    PCI\VEN_1033&DEV_0194&SUBSYS_05071025&REV_04\4&151B6E81&0&00E4    The drivers for this device are not installed.
Ethernet Controller    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_16B5&SUBSYS_05001025&REV_10\4&5840E21&0&00E3    The drivers for this device are not installed.
Base System Device    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_16BE&SUBSYS_05001025&REV_10\4&5840E21&0&02E3    The drivers for this device are not installed.
Base System Device    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_16BF&SUBSYS_05001025&REV_10\4&5840E21&0&03E3    The drivers for this device are not installed.
SM Bus Controller    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C22&SUBSYS_05061025&REV_04\3&11583659&0&FB    The drivers for this device are not installed.

There is a STOP 0x7a error in the WER section of MSINFO32 with a status code of 0xc0000185

In most cases this is a hard drive error.  Please run these free hard drive diagnostics: http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html

Please don't use CCleaner or any other disk cleaning utilities until we're done troubleshooting.  They delete reports that we need.

Good luck!

Hi Ben ^_^,

Really sorry for the delay :( . I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Let's check the arguments -

Arguments:
Arg1: fffff6fc40006eb8, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc0000185, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: 00000000476b6860, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: fffff88000dd793c, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)
Let's check what the second argument means -
0: kd> !error ffffffffc0000185
Error code: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000185 (3221225861) - The I/O device reported an I/O error.
According to the WinDBG Manual -

0xC0000185, or STATUS_IO_DEVICE_ERROR, indicates improper termination or defective cabling on SCSI devices or that two devices are trying to use the same IRQ.

Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system -

Kindly follow the below points -

1. Please go to this **SITE** and download the latest drivers for your system especially the AHCI Driver update. As of now, the website for Acer Support is down as they are performing maintenance. If by the time it is not fixed, I would suggest you to try again some time later and then grab the drivers for your laptop Acer Aspire 4750 (Correct?)

2. If you are still facing problems (which I think you might be), take the laptop to Acer and ask them to check the Hard Disk and it's connections since according to the dump file, they are causing the problem.

Oh and regarding -

Unfortunately i will try another time too much of a novice so i know when i'm beat !!

I don't think that you are a novice ;)

In case you are not clear with any point, please feel free to ask :)

Let us know how it goes ^_^

Regards,
Pranav
