K9 PC Protector is legit - however it is a PC optimizer program which Bleeping Computer does not recommend the use of.

K9-PC Protector is a branded version of Systweak software, a potentially unwanted 'PC optimization and registry cleaner' program. - Read more at http://www.shouldiremoveit.com/K9-PC-Protector-145659-program.aspx

You can read why we do not recommend the use of registry cleaners and optimization tools in this topic.
