I'd suggest starting by Googling the printer model and error code.

If the ink cartridge is not installed correctly? try removing the cartridge from the printer and reinstall it. Make sure it is fully installed and snaps into place securely. Then try printing again. Make sure you turn off the printer and turn it back on to reset the error message.

It depends on the error code. If you haven't solved it what was the error code? Did it work what you found? If the printer is telling you the cartridge is empty you need to do the reset.

If the printer is telling you they are faulty you need to work out which cartridge is the problem black or colour.
