So I had to replace my hard drive, and I installed a new hard drive onto my computer and reinstalled windows 8.1 from the windows website. However, I am now unable to connect to any wifi at all. It says I need an Ethernet cable to connect to wifi, but with the previous hard drive I was able to connect to wifi. What happened? I can still access the files on my old hard drive if need be.

There are two drivers shown for your computer. In Device Manager, right click the Network device with the yellow exclamation mark next to it. Select Properties and in the Details tab select HardwareIDs in the dropdown box. Copy and post the first line. If you wish you can download Minitoolbox and only check List Devices and check No Driver. Then post the results.

Edit: Sorry, here is the link for Minitoolbox

For the Network Controller Download and install this driver.

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g505s-notebook/downloads/DS037965

For the other two devices please provide the first line of Hardware IDs as you did for the Network Controller.

After we solve the driver problem then we can look at the sleeping issue.

ACPI\VEN_VPC&DEV_2004 References the Lenovo Energy Managment System. See if this driver works.

I will be out of a couple of hours. I will check the last one when I get back.

Edit: Right click the driver and select Run as Adminstrator.

Edit Edit: The second is a card reader. I could not find one on your computers support page. The closest I could find is this one.

Thanks man, they worked. However, my touchpad used to be a multi-finger touchpad, but now it's not and there's no driver for it that i can see. Where can i find that?

Check to see if you have it enabled in settings. See this Lenovo support page.
