I will greatly appreciate any help!

1) I was infected with "Trojan.Qhosts" and other Trojans a number of months back.
2) My Norton Antivirus became corrupted and would not allow for auto-protection.
3) My Windows Updates would not allow me to scan for updates, and would produce an error.
4) I remained unprotected and out of date for a number of months until today.
5) Yesterday I was infected with the "BraveSentry" Malware.
6) I removed "BraveSentry" with the the following instructions:
7) I then proceeded to follow the "Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log":
8) I completed steps 1-3.
9) On step 4, I ran both scans (Multiple times) but I can't bring the objects list to 0.
10) The only successful program on step 5 was "Bit Defender" It took 4 hours and found a lot.
11) On step 6, the "Stinger" program found and removed one object.
12) On step 7, I downloaded and installed "Zone Alarm"
13) On step 8, I found a fix for my update problem and downloaded all (28) Critical updates.
14) On step 9, I downloaded, installed, and ran "HijackThis"
15) I made and saved the log file of my scan.
16) Here are some of the Viruses, Spyware, and Malware remaining on my system:

Trojan.Qhosts
Trojan Horse
Trojan.Boxed.A
Trojan.Bookmarker
Trojan.Delf.EF
Krepper

There are others like "CoolWebSearch" Regkeys and Windows RegData Vulnerabilities.

Some of my symptoms right now:

- Frequent drops with my Internet connection (Almost every 5 minutes).
- Zone Alarm keeps detecting potentially malicious or unidentified activity.
- Ad-Aware SE continues to find 4-12 objects after every scan.
- Norton Antivirus Gives me countless messages about "Trojan.Qhosts" when Auto-protect is on.
- Windows Defender alerts of various viruses and Trojans.
- "Explorer needs to close" and other Error messages appear at random.

Here is my Hijackthis Log. (I can provide other logs from Ad-Aware or my Antivirus if needed)

Hello agrarianmonk, Thanks for your time, but I have already reformatted, and everything's running fine.
I think I've learned from some of my mistakes above and I'm now anal about security, lol. But If you have any suggestions, or comments, I'll be glad to listen.

Thanks again, This site has been helpful.

to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programs:
  • SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
  • SpywareGuard to catch and block spyware before it can execute.
  • IESpy-Ad to block access to malicious websites so you cannot be redirected to them from an infected site or email.
You should also have a good firewall. Here are 2 free ones available for personal use:and a good antivirus (these are also free for personal use):It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated.

To keep your operating system up to date visitmonthly. And to keep your system clean run these free malware scannersweekly, and be aware of what emails you open and websites you visit.

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read this article by Tony Klien: So how did I get infected in the first place?

Have a safe and happy computing day!

Hello agrarianmonk, and thanks again. Those are some pretty good recommendations. Unfortunately now I've got a new problem. My Geforce 6800 GT seems to be fried. It went haywire and crashed while playing a game last night, and now Windows boots up with all sorts of lines on the boot sequence, and only gets worse the closer it gets to starting Windows, and when it does, the screen is completely scrambled. The only way to get into Windows is to run in safemode and uninstall the drivers. Then only when the drivers are uninstalled, it will display windows on a regular bootup. The boot sequence is still scrambled though. I pulled out my 6800 GT and plugged in my old ATI, and it looks and works fine. I'm regretful to say, but it looks like my card is on the road to becoming a paperweight.

Unfortunately, I can't consider myself an expert in hardware, and in the malware forum we don't specialize in anything except malware. I invite you to post in the Hardware forum at BC if you need help with your video card.
