My main hard drive is 500gb and I use Casper to create a bootable clone on an identical hard drive about once a month.  I would like to create the backup on a 1 TB drive instead and then install it as my main drive.  Will I have a problem changing drive size?  Thank you.

Hello Bill_in_Texas,

In theory there should be no problem cloning a smaller drive to a larger one. The opposite may lead to problems (obviously).Depending on the software you're using, cloning process may allow you to expand the target partition to span the entire disk instead of just creating a partition the same size as the source disk. That's about it, feel free to ask any further questions, Citizen_WD

Thank you for the reply.  I have a new drive headed my way and will certainly give it a try.  Of course I'll not format the original until I know the larger works and I do have my other bootable copy as well.  Thanks again.
