Hi Guys

I have an old laptop that got hit by a dose of malware sometime ago. I believe I'm clean now!!  have used the laptop to test out security applications before I install on my new HP laptop.

Currently I am running MSE antivirus with premium Malwarebytes. My questions is, as Panda antivirus free is a lightweight cloud based programme will it conflict with any current anti virus?

regards

Hi Cluless :)

You should never have two Antivirus installed at once on a system, no matter if one of them is Cloud-based or not. Having more than one Antivirus installed can lead to system conflict and instability, to the point where you could not even be able to boot into your system anymore. If you want to switch to Panda Free Antivirus, you'll have to uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials. You are free however to have as many Antimalware (like Malwarebytes) as you want, thought having too many of them active in real-time can cause slowness on your system.

For more information, I suggest you to read the article below by quietman, and pay a special attention to the "IMPORTANT NOTE" at the bottom.

Microsoft recommends that you install and run only one anti-virus program at a timeSee the IMPORTANT NOTE about not using more than one anti-virus program in this topic.
