Hi, I just recently joined, and for some reason various computers are trying to connect to this one from different IP addresses. I have AOL Safety and Security, which is notifying me everytime an attempt is blocked. Please help with tips or advice on what should be done, thx. Also, I have ran various scans including virus and adware scans and a bgates[1].exe file was found in the system but is no longer there (possibly because I managed to delete the temporary files). There was also a winwly32.dll which I managed to delete after a while.

I apologize if this topic has been placed in the wrong area, I didn't take the time to read the other forum titles.

In the window or balloon that pops up to tell you this, there is probably an option you can put a check in that says something like "don't show this again". It is normal for there to be a lot of these but you don't need to know everytime your firewall blocks them.

indeed, the thing that concerns me most however is that my aunt and grandmother hadn't any problems like this til I arrived which was a week and a half ago. I don't know if it's all my fault however but the timing is convienient. (I have set the software to notify only on critical errors. I think I was the one to originally tamper with that setting.)

I hope that removes the annoyance. Indeed.
