The touchpad enhancements (e.g. side-scrolling, etc.) of my computer keep crashing. I've seen that many people have had this same issue, and there doesn't seem to be much to do other than restart it when it crashes. I've created a shortcut for it so I don't have to go digging all the time, but I wanted to know if there's some way to use a specific program crashing as a trigger for it to restart.

Task scheduler only lets me use "Application Error" as a trigger, but not a specific application.

There are programs to do such things (like Restart On Crash), but have you tried updating to the latest version of the touchpad driver instead?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
