I made a post about a month ago about having constant disconnects with my ISP (rural wireless internet). I ended up being able to "fix" my problems by duct taping everything to my desk (lol).. so the cat5e cable coming from the receiver on the roof to the power supply, the power supply itself, and the cable going to my router. Worked perfectly for three weeks with no dcs (unless I took the tape off...!). No idea why, but it worked.
Then it stopped working altogether one night, so the tech came in and replaced everything- receiver, power supply and cable- and I went back to my constant d/cing.. same problem as I was having before. Taping it didn't work this time. It worked fine and was reasonably fast when I wasn't being dced, but it was horribly annoying so I contacted another ISP in the area to do an install, and I'm having a totally different problem with them.. hugely varying latency. It makes online gaming really frustrating at times, sometimes it's great sometimes it is awful. Noticed today that it seems to be in the evening when it craps out. My skype calls are on low quality and if I'm on Mumble people sound robotic and sometimes it's almost completely unusable. Latency in WoW is between 50ms-800ms.
Here's a ping thing sent to google.. I'm so incredibly frustrated.. beyond belief. I'm paying for two internet connections that basically don't work. I'm not that computer savvy and I'm not sure what other options I have.
